Primary (PYP)

We opened our doors in August 2005 with just over 50 students, and have grown by leaps and bounds over the past four years; currently, we number 220 students and 20 classroom and specialist subject teachers strong - and counting!

In August 2008, we acquired more breathing room, when we moved to our new campus on Jalan Jurong Kechil, which we share with the GESS German Section Primary. Our whole school community loves it here, because it is spacious and green with a national park right next door. With approximately 500 students in total, the Primary Campus is big enough to make exploring fun, without being overwhelming.

Since our inception, we have been implementing the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, and we were officially authorized in March 2009. Now the IB family at GESS is complete, as we rounded out the Middle Years and Diploma Programmes on our main campus to be a fully IB World School.

GESS PYP Certificate

In addition to our enthusiastic, international faculty and friendly support staff, the GESS Primary campus boasts fully-equipped facilities: a sports hall, visual art and music classrooms, bilingual library and now, a brand-new swimming pool. It’s no wonder GESS families are happy here!

If you are interested in learning more about us, I would be very pleased to show you around in person.

Kindest regards,
Sarah Thomas

Within the classroom music programme every Grade Three student participates in an eight-week intensive string programme learning the violin, viola or cello. Tuition is given by professional string tutors in groups of four to six students twice a week (during their scheduled music class). Each student will be provided with an instrument to take home to practice. The programme concludes with an assembly concert to showcase their efforts. Please click here for more details about the Grade Three string programme.
