Internationales Bildungsfest
On 8th September 2011 the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be organizing the 'Internationale Bildungsfest' (International Education Festival) in Berlin. At this event the prize-winners of the initiative 'Excellentzinitiative innovatives Lernen' (Excellent innovative learning initiative) will be presented and Best Practices (amongst which the GESS programme Global School) will be introduced.

ARD correspondent Martin Seidemann interviewed the GESS torch bearers about their experiences during the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
From 4 to 6 June 2010 the Weltverband Deutscher Auslandsschulen (WDA) and the Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen (ZfA) jointly organized the third World Congress for German schools abroad. Together with school boards, school - and administrative heads of the 135 German schools abroad, the GESS was also present. On the third day of the congress there were various workshops for the participants. Here the possibilities, limitations and opportunities of multimedia learning were discussed. In this context the GESS Global School project, in which pupils of the Christian German School Chiang Mai participate in the classroom teaching of GESS via video conference, attention attracted a lot of attention.

In March 2010 about 80 students visited ‘The Roots Resort’ in Ipoh, Malaysia. The itinerary of the students was jam-packed full of activities, including a visit to an Orang Asli village and the ‘Ecofieldtrips’ mangrove nursery at Kuala Gula. Early Childhood Conference 2010 – Voices for Children
GESS actively participated at the „Early Childhood Conference 2010 – Voices for Children" hold at Ngee Ann Polytechnic from June 18th to June 19th. 1500 participants took part in the conference. Keynote speaker was Dr Marilou Hyson, consultant in Early Childhood Development and Education and an Affiliate Faculty member in Applied Developmental Psychology at George Mason University, USA. Conference members visited the GESS pre-school department as an example where standards of professional practice are held high.
